(HomeGarden247.com, April 26, 2013 ) Norwich, UK -- It has been one of the longest and coldest winters in recent years and finally the warm weather has started to creep through. The period has certainly kept boiler engineers and installers busy, with a high number of faults and breakdowns reported all across the country. But with summer just around the corner, many feel they will struggle to find enough work in the summer, often highlighted in monthly targets.
In fact, many engineers won’t expect to be inundated with work again until the autumn, one of the busiest times of the year. It’s at this point when the central heating is switched on after the summer, with faults and breakdowns prone.
This doesn’t have to be the case for boiler engineers though and there are thousands of enquiries throughout the summer months too. Consumer matching service Quotatis reported over 12,000 boiler requests in March alone on the major search engines, which was a 20% rise from February.
The South East of England and Greater London saw the greatest number of searches, taking 1,613 and 1,523 respectively. The North East follows up with over 1,300.
The rise in popularity for new boilers can be attributed to a number of reasons. Most importantly though is the rising cost of National Grid gas and electricity. Combined with the awareness on inefficient combiboilers, homeowners are keen to replace their boilers and shred bills throughout the year.
With the Energy Saving Trust estimating that over £300 can be saved yearly by switching a G-rated boiler for an A-rated system, people are actively looking to replace and start saving.
Quotatis’ Head of Marketing, Tom Crosswell, said: “Many boiler companies will have an annual target which accommodates for a less successful summer than at other times of the year.
“Our information shows this shouldn’t be the case and as the year has progressed there have been more and more replacement boiler searches on the web. With national energy suppliers cranking up prices, people are looking for an efficient system to trim bills.
So far in 2013 Quotatis has received over 5,000 boiler enquiries throughout the UK from consumers interested in a new system. With a number of campaigns and advertising projects anticipated, the summer will be very busy for our replacement boiler sector.”
Tom has appealed to boiler contractors not to lower their targets this summer and instead look to take on even more work, which he says is waiting to be had. There are thousands of potential customers every month, even in the warmer months of June, July and August.
Using Quotatis is one way to up your workload this summer. Without the need to pay expensive advertising, Quotatis provides verified consumer enquiries throughout the year in selected postcode regions. They pride themselves on quality and offering a valuable service to both consumers and tradespeople.
